Promoted June 2024 – Present In my current role as Supervisor, I lead clinical and operational growth within the Respiratory Therapy Department and Sleep Services. Key achievements include: • Director of Respiratory Therapy Clinical Training Program Supervise the clinical training of respiratory therapy students, acting as a preceptor to ensure they are fully equipped to deliver safe, effective care. This supports not only patient outcomes but also long-term workforce readiness within the hospital. • Established an Outpatient Respiratory Clinic Developed and launched a clinic offering both therapeutic and diagnostic services—including pulmonary rehab, bronchial hygiene, and PFTs, leading to increased patient throughput and the generation of consistent outpatient revenue streams. • Established Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) Service I took the lead in setting up the HBOT service, making sure everything from safety protocols to daily workflows was in place. I also trained our RT team to confidently operate the chamber and act as safety officers. Beyond clinical use, we introduced HBOT as part of our well-being and longevity offering supporting recovery after transplants, complex wounds, and even for patients seeking wellness-based therapy. It’s now not only helping patients heal but also adding a valuable revenue-generating service to the hospital. • Developed the Respiratory Therapy Department and Sleep Lab Built both services from the ground up, introduced effective utilization protocols, and engaged physicians through CPT coding education to ensure accurate billing and maximize reimbursement. These services now function as key clinical and financial contributors to the facility. • Designed and Implemented a Specialized Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program Created a comprehensive program for: • Post–Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and CAR-T patients, including GVHD-related pulmonary dysfunction • Post-ICU patients with respiratory deconditioning • Patients with neuromuscular diseases or multiple sclerosis with respiratory complications • Individuals recovering from prolonged intubation This program improves long-term patient outcomes and is positioned to contribute to revenue through outpatient rehab billing. • Ensured Integration of Billable, High-Impact Respiratory Services Across all programs PFTs, bronchial hygiene therapy, asthma education, sleep studies, and HBOT, I focus on structuring services that are not only clinically effective but also CPT-code supported and revenue-generating, aligning patient care with the hospital’s financial sustainability. • Developing and implementing policies, key performance indicators (KPIs). • Collaborating with operational teams to increase patient flow and introduce teleconsultation services, expanding our reach. • Spearheading initiatives for disease awareness, with the aim of increasing patient flow. • Evaluating respiratory equipment and consumables for cost-effectiveness. • Developing Quality improvement projects. • Supporting staff training and developing clinical competencies.
